Our story

More than two decades supplying tropical plantations, from cover crop seeds to a growing range of soil and plantation products.

Kudzu Seeds Trading was established on 25 April 2002 as a wholesaler and distributor of tropical cover crop seeds for plantations and individual growers. Over the years we expanded into the importation of super-hybrid germinated oil palm seed from FGV Agri Services Sdn. Bhd. and Sime Darby Seeds and Agricultural Services, Malaysia.

Our portfolio has since grown to include SoilBoost EA, a concentrated humic acid soil conditioner produced exclusively for Chemiseed and Kudzu Seeds Trading, and the Kudzu RB Lure, manufactured by ChemTica International, S.A., Costa Rica, for rhinoceros beetle management in oil palm and coconut.

Today we continue to grow by offering practical, evidence-based and sustainable products that help plantation owners and smallholder growers build healthier soil and more productive land.

What we supply

A focused range for tropical plantations and land-rehabilitation programmes: leguminous cover crop seeds, soil conditioners, organic supplements, pest-monitoring lures and plantation tools.

Tropical cover crop seeds

Five leguminous species for oil palm, rubber, coconut and cacao: Mucuna bracteata (MB), Pueraria javanica (PJ), Calopogonium mucunoides (CM), Centrosema pubescens (CP) and Calopogonium caeruleum (CC). They fix nitrogen, suppress weeds and protect plantation ground from erosion.

SoilBoost EA soil conditioner

A leonardite-derived humic acid soil conditioner containing 96.55% humic acid. It conditions the root zone and is not a fertiliser or a substitute for one. Produced exclusively for Chemiseed and Kudzu Seeds Trading.

Hyacinth Plus organic supplement

A plant supplement and soil amendment derived from water hyacinth, certified organic by BAFS and Control Union of the Philippines. That certification applies to Hyacinth Plus only, not to SoilBoost EA.

RB Lure pheromone traps

Pheromone lures for rhinoceros beetle (Oryctes rhinoceros) mass trapping in oil palm and coconut. A monitoring and population-reduction tool within an integrated programme, not an eradication method.

Our relationship with Chemiseed

Kudzu Seeds Trading and Chemiseed Sdn. Bhd. are independent sister companies serving tropical plantation agriculture. Each sources and supplies its own seed and products for its own markets, holds its own contracts and handles its own shipping. We are not dependent on one another; we work together, drawing on more than 20 years of combined field experience across Philippine, Malaysian and Indonesian plantations.

In practice that means our customers get consistent, germination-tested seed quality, species recommendations grounded in real plantation experience, and SoilBoost EA, a single proprietary soil conditioner produced exclusively for both companies and offered by Kudzu Seeds Trading to its own markets.

Where we operate

Our primary market is the Philippines. We also export to tropical regions worldwide, with a phytosanitary certificate issued for each consignment by the Philippine NPPO, the Bureau of Plant Industry, under the IPPC framework.

Why work with us

Germination-tested seed

Every lot is tested before shipment, with a dated certificate of analysis available on request. Tested figures, not guarantees. See quality and certifications.

Export-ready documentation

A phytosanitary certificate issued for each consignment by the Philippine Bureau of Plant Industry, the national plant protection organisation, under the IPPC framework, plus the export paperwork your destination requires. It attests to inspection at origin; import permits and admissibility remain the buyer’s responsibility.

Frequently asked questions

Is Kudzu Seeds Trading a distributor of Chemiseed?
No. Kudzu Seeds Trading and Chemiseed Sdn. Bhd. are independent sister companies. Each sources and supplies its own cover crop seed and agricultural products for its own markets. They share more than 20 years of combined tropical plantation experience but are not dependent on one another.
Where is Kudzu Seeds Trading based, and where do you ship?
We are headquartered in Davao City, Philippines. Our primary market is the Philippines and we export to tropical regions worldwide, including Southeast Asia, Latin America, Africa, South Asia and the Pacific. Every seed export consignment travels with a phytosanitary certificate issued by the Philippine Bureau of Plant Industry, the national plant protection organisation (NPPO), under the IPPC framework. The certificate itself follows ISPM 12, and BPI operates its certification system under ISPM 7; ISPM 7 applies to the NPPO, not to us. The certificate attests to inspection at origin and does not by itself authorise import, so import permits and admissibility remain the buyer’s responsibility.
What products does Kudzu Seeds Trading supply?
Five tropical legume cover crop species (Mucuna bracteata, Pueraria javanica, Calopogonium mucunoides, Centrosema pubescens and Calopogonium caeruleum), the SoilBoost EA humic acid soil conditioner, the Hyacinth Plus organic supplement, RB Lure rhinoceros beetle pheromone traps, coconut fibre nets and oil palm harvesting poles.
Is Pueraria javanica the same as invasive kudzu?
No. Pueraria javanica, tropical kudzu, is a cultivated leguminous cover crop grown in tropical plantations. It is a different species from the temperate invasive kudzu, Pueraria montana var. lobata, which is restricted in some countries.
Is SoilBoost EA certified organic?
No, and we do not claim it is. SoilBoost EA is derived from leonardite, a mined oxidised lignite. Hyacinth Plus is a separate product and is certified organic by BAFS and Control Union of the Philippines. Full detail is on our quality and certifications page.
Do you supply plantations, governments and smallholder farmers?
Yes. We supply plantation companies, government and institutional programmes, agricultural distributors and individual smallholder farmers, with bulk and quote-based pricing. Tell us your crop, area and country for a tailored recommendation.
