Cover-crop seeds
These plants typically reach 6-12 inches in the first month under normal conditions.
Our five cover-crop species tolerate varied soils. Optimal pH 5.5-7.6. CM likes acidic clay (pH 4.5-5). MB, CP, CC, PJ prefer slightly acidic to neutral soils.
CM approximately 2 months, MB approximately 2 months, CP approximately 2 months (90% germination in 1 week), PJ approximately 6 months, CC slower but climbs well even in 90% shade.
All five are drought-tolerant thanks to deep tap-roots; surface dryness won't kill them.
MB and CC are best as monocrops; CP, CM and PJ inter-crop nicely with tree crops like durian and coffee.
MB > PJ > CM = CP > CC. MB's dense root system offers top erosion protection.
Main savings come from lower herbicide use and reduced synthetic nitrogen bills.
CP makes good forage and hay. MB, CM, PJ and CC supply biomass for mulch or compost.
CC > PJ > CM = MB > CP.
All five establish on slopes and flatlands; CM, CP and PJ handle varied terrain.
Generally pest-resistant; infestations occur only with heavy damage.
Yes - bees and butterflies benefit; frogs thrive in dense cover.
Start of the rainy season; stands persist 2-3 years.
Fix about 90 to 270 kg of nitrogen per hectare per year, depending on species and planting density (for example Calopogonium caeruleum around 90, Mucuna bracteata 150 to 200, Pueraria javanica up to about 250, and Centrosema pubescens up to about 270).
All five smother weeds once greater than 70% ground cover is achieved.
Roots feed beneficial microbes, boosting biodiversity.
Seeding rates are species-specific: Pueraria javanica 2 to 4 kg per hectare, Calopogonium mucunoides 3 to 5 kg per hectare, Centrosema pubescens 2 to 4 kg per hectare, and Calopogonium caeruleum 2 to 3 kg per hectare. Mucuna bracteata is not broadcast; it is nursery-raised and transplanted at about 320 seedlings per hectare, roughly 85 to 100 grams of seed per hectare.
Harvest at peak canopy; CP excels as hay.
Survive up to 2 weeks' flooding; die if submerged longer.
Handle droughts and moderate flooding; MB is aggressive but controllable.
SoilBoost EA (soil conditioner)
A humic-acid soil conditioner that improves structure, boosts microbes, and enhances nutrient uptake.
Apply SoilBoost EA before planting or during land prep; add NPK later if tissue tests call for it.
Cracked crust, stunted plants, standing water, or poor drainage indicate SoilBoost EA can help.
Trials show stronger roots, better drought resilience, and higher yields in durian, cacao, and vegetables.
Yes - meets standards for organic input use (check your certifier).
Broadcast 50-100 kg per hectare or band 20 g per planting hole for trees.
Kudzu RB Lure (pest management)
A slow-release pheromone (ethyl 4-methyloctanoate) that lures Oryctes rhinoceros beetles into traps.
Deploy 1 trap per 2 ha (approximately 5 acres) for full mass-trapping coverage.
Replace every 8-10 weeks; sooner under heavy beetle pressure.
Yes - non-toxic and species-specific; fits IPM programs.
Works alongside Metarhizium spores, light traps, or targeted insecticides.
Produced by ChemTica International S.A. (Costa Rica); distributed in the Philippines by Kudzu Seeds Trading.
